Media Attention,Internal Control And Corporate Social Responsibility | | Posted on:2021-04-23 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:T Y Wang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2428330647957060 | Subject:economics | | Abstract/Summary: | | | With the improvement of the management level of listed companies in China,more and more enterprises begin to pay attention to the social responsibility of enterprises.In the information age,the media not only accelerates the dissemination of information,but also plays an extremely important role of external supervision.Media attention can not only directly supervise the CSR behavior of enterprises,but also promote the internal control system of enterprises,thus profoundly affecting and changing the CSR behavior of enterprises.The research on the social responsibility of listed companies from the perspective of media attention is the focus of the academic circle and the government departments,which has a strong practical significance.This paper use empirical approach,based on the theory of public pressure,corporate reputation theory,stakeholder theory and corporate citizenship theory,with the sample data of A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2011 to 2018.The multivariate regression model is set up to examine the relationship between the media attention and corporate social responsibility.And this paper view internal control as the intermediary variables,using zhonglin wen intermediary inspection process for the intermediary effect between them.The results show that media attention can promote the improvement of CSR level.Media attention is positively correlated with internal control quality.The quality of internal control plays an obvious part of mediating role in the process of media attention enhancing the level of CSR,and no matter what type of media attention,it can directly or indirectly affect CSR behavior.According to the empirical results,this paper suggests: the relevant laws and regulations should to improved to force enterprises to perform social responsibility timely and effectively and to improve their internal control system;The media should enhance the efficiency of their information disclosure and reporting,and improve the accuracy,timeliness and depth of their reporting,and actively guide the correct values of social responsibility.Enterprises should take the initiative to improve the governance and internal control mechanism related to social responsibility. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Media attention, Internal control, Social responsibility, The mediation effect, The listed company | | Related items |
