Rendering animal fur realistically in real time is one of the important topics in 3D interactive software,virtual reality,digital entertainment and other fields.Due to the huge number of fur and complex details,the calculation takes too long,and high-precision fur effects can only be used for offline rendering.In recent years,with the advancement of graphics hardware and fur rendering algorithms,high-precision fur rendering has been achieved on the PC side.The mobile platform limited by CPU performance,memory size,etc.It is different from the method of rendering fur on the PC side.Its existing real-time fur rendering technology cannot meet the performance requirements of the mobile platform.There are many types of fur in nature,and a single technical solution cannot effectively deal with all kinds of fur.Therefore,the fur drawing method proposed in this paper is mainly applied to short fur scenes.Based on the analysis and summary of existing fur rendering methods,this paper improves the corresponding fur rendering methods according to the characteristics of mobile fur drawing,and conducts in-depth research on fur appearance,dynamic simulation,rendering,etc.The main work and results are as follows.(1)A fur generation method based on stacked slice grid is proposed to generate fur appearance.This method introduces the volume rendering technology of two-dimensional texture mapping,generates a multi-layer slice grid only in the normal direction of the fur growth model,and maps the noise map to finally generate the fur shape,and applies the Bakay method to the appearance control of fur to adjust the shape of fur.(2)Apply simple harmonics to the offset of the fur vertices to approximate the effect of fur affected by wind.In order to ensure the authenticity of the fur movement,the three coordinates of the vertices are respectively shifted using different simple harmonic formulas,and finally the superposition forms a more realistic fur dynamics.(3)First,the improved Fresnel algorithm is used to simulate the effect of fur contour light formed by subsurface scattering.Second,the Kajiya-Kay lighting model is introduced to simulate the anisotropic lighting effect of fur.Finally,a hierarchical shadow mapping method is proposed to achieve the self-shadow effect of fur.Preliminary experimental results show that the fur rendering method in this paper is more realistic than traditional mobile fur rendering,and can run smoothly on a variety of models to meet the needs of engineering practice.
