With the rapid development of science and technology,people have higher and higher requirements for image processing,and the real-time and fast image processing needs of all walks of life are increasing day by day.However,the traditional image processing technology,whether through DSP,CPU or ASIC,has shortcomings.Because of its unique parallelism,FPGA has developed rapidly in the field of real-time and fast image processing.Through FPGA,the image is processed rapidly Image real-time processing can greatly improve the real-time performance of image processing,and achieve the ability that is almost invisible to the human eye.In view of the advantages of FPGA in the field of image real-time processing,this research is devoted to the application of FPGA in digital image processing technology,and the specific research direction is the application of FPGA in real-time edge detection.Considering that noise may be produced in the process of image acquisition,filter algorithm and edge detection algorithm are used to achieve the best edge detection effect.In this design,EP4CE10F17C8 of Intel company is selected as the core FPGA chip of the system,30 W pixel CMOS camera of ov7670 model is selected as the image acquisition part,and the camera configuration is completed with SCCB timing;SDRAM chip of HY57V281620 model is selected as the image buffer part,because SDRAM chip is an external chip,the controller design is mainly completed in the design;Sobel edge detection algorithm is the most commonly used algorithm for image edge detection.The design of this part takes into account the problem of on-chip resource overhead.Here,with the help of its internal IP core,some complex multiplication and division operations are completed.In the filtering algorithm part of the image,considering that there are many filtering algorithms in the digital image processing domain,there are three algorithms: median filtering,mean filtering and Gaussian filtering In the image transmission part,the Realtek rtl8201 100 M Ethernet PHY chip is selected,and the UDP / IP protocol is designed to complete the real-time transmission of the image.The PC software is used to observe the effect;Finally,we get the real-time display of the system from image capture to image,each image only needs 48 ms,which achieves the expected design goal.The design of each part of this design uses Intel's Quartus II software as the design tool,and selects Modelsim as the simulation tool.After the above design is integrated,it is downloaded to FPGA,and the final experimental results achieve the expected goal.
