Increasingly complex competitive environments drive corporations in almost all industries to conduct omnibearing innovation activities to enhance their technological innovation capability and international competitiveness.As the basis of technological innovation and market innovation,technological opportunity is the key to improve the technology innovation ability and international competitiveness of enterprises and industries.The establishment of any technological innovation project relys on investigating the size of its technological opportunities,so the research on technological opportunities has always been an important part of technological innovation.Futhermore,through the deep mining of specific knowledge and information from the patent documents,effectiveness of searching potential technology opportunities can be improved increasingly.Against this background,we propose Subject–Action–Object(SAO)based semantic analysis to identify technology opportunities by two angels: detecting unoccupied technology combinations or replacing with function-similar technology from other area.From the aspects of technical structure,we use morphological analysis based on partitive SAO structure to identify the technology development status of all combinations of components by viewing the state of occupancy.In the aspects of technical function,through the analysis of similar technology function based on attributed SAO structure,the paper is to measure the degree of similarity between the technology and the multidisciplinary technology.And higher similar technology can be subsititute as a new alternative reference to technology opportunities.In this paper,the dye sensitized solar cell as an example of empirical research,will be applied to the SAO semantic mining technology opportunities analysis model.Compared with the traditional recognition methods of technology opportunities,its advantage is that(1)through observing characteristics of technological opportunities,selecting the appropriate method by recognizing different types of technological opportunity;(2)according to the characteristics of SAO structure chain,mining technology association of information technology in the text.The research results of this paper can help to improve the success rate of technology opportunity recognition,promote the development of technology innovation,and facilitate the R&D of technology.
