In view of the exist technical problems in the current monitoring system of solar street light, this paper studies the basic principles of work of solar cells and accumulators,the features of solar cells charging to the accumulators,the measurement technique of battery capacity,the characteristics of LED light source and operation mode, the technology of relay digital communications and the technology of failure testing in the solar street lighting systems. Applying Microcomputer technology it designs and achieves the comprehensive monitoring of solar street light, enhances the operation level of solar street light,saves the design capacity of equipment, saves the manpower and resources, it plays a catalytic role in the application of solar street light. The system reaches the expected requirements through test, obtains good results in the application.
