Multicarrier transmission technology is one of the key technologies to solve the high-speed and high-frequency spectral efficiency requirements of future mobile communication. To meet the new requirements of the future mobile communication technology,it is necessary to further improve the spectral efficiency and bit error rate(BER)performance of multicarrier transmission technology. With the increasing requirements for multi-carrier technology, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)technology has some limitations in future communications due to its high peak average power(PAPR)and large out-of-band(OOB)emission.Therefore,the new multi carrier waves has become a hot topic in recent years. In order to improve the spectral efficiency,a new multicarrier transmission technology is studied in this paper.Based on the generalized frequency division multiplexing(GFDM)multi-carrier transmission technology, the index modulation(IM)is introduced to form a new multi-carrier transmission technology, called generalized frequency division multiplexing with real and imaginary indices modulation(GFDMRIIM).This scheme retains the original block structure transmission of GFDM and carries out separate filtering on each sub-carrier,so the new scheme still has high flexibility in system design, and can also reduce PAPR and effectively control out-ofband leakage.GFDM-RIIM maintains the original technical advantages while introducing the index modulation, and further divides it into real part index and imaginary part index,so that the spectral efficiency and bit error rate performance can be improved effectively. In addition, the concept of overlapping coefficient is introduced based on GFDM,and a new multi-carrier modulation scheme named overlapping generalized frequency division multiplexing(O-GFDM)is proposed. The results show that the scheme can flexibly balance the spectral efficiency and BER according to the requirements of application scenarios,so as to meet the different requirements of future mobile communication scenarios.
