In the future 5G network, user data will be aggregated into large data packets through ultra-dense base stations. When these large data packets are amplified by the EDFA in the DWDM system using an asynchronous switching system, the crosstalk of different channels will be generated, which may increase bit error rate(BER)of the data packets and worsen communication quality(Deterioration).Based on the study of the gain recovery time and cross-gain modulation of EDFA,the deterioration of the bit error rate of large data packets is studied in depth. The calculation formula of the bit error rate caused by crosstalk is theoretically obtained, the factors affecting the bit error rate are discussed, and the experimental device for generating large data packets and crosstalk is built. Both theoretical and experimental results show that the greater the packet length and optical power of one channel, the greater the impact on the bit error rate of the other channel. When the packet length is less than 5?s,the effect of crosstalk on the BER is negligible. This paper studies the deterioration of the bit error rate caused by EDFA crosstalk of large data packets from both theoretical and experimental aspects. The main work is as follows.1.The advantages, technical applications and basic principles of EDFA are introduced, the gain formula of EDFA is derived through theory, the basic characteristics of EDFA,including gain saturation characteristics and transient characteristics, are experimentally studied, the gain recovery time of the system was fully measured, and the effects of drive current and input optical power on the gain recovery time of EDFA were analyzed.2.Completed the construction of the EDFA crosstalk experiment, designed a large data packet that can meet the crosstalk in EDFA,and measured the bit error rate of the data packet caused by crosstalk, the theoretical simulation results are basically consistent with the experimental results, and finally given factors that affect the deterioration of the bit error rate when data packets are transmitted in EDFA.3.Completed the work of generating differential balanced optical signals, built an experimental platform for generating differential balanced signals, introduced key devices, and obtained differential balanced signals through experiments.
