The rapid development of modern photon technology has promoted the revolution of visible light communication technology represented by optical interconnection network on chip,which promises high bandwidth,low delay time,efficient energy utilization.With the excellent performance of the GaN,belong to the third-generation semiconductor,GaN achieves the mature development and huge application in the blue LED.It is possible to realize optical interconnection network on chip based on GaN.In this paper,GaN is selected as the core semiconductor.The chip,designed and fabricated for optical interconnection network,is integrated light source,waveguide and receiver.Combined with the specific process steps,the main operations are prepared,include photolithography and etching process,and epitaxial structure of chip is studied and designed.Therefore,we can increase the external quantum efficiency of optical interconnection chip and reduce the influence of external noise on communication.Under different current driving,the maximum luminous intensity of the light source can reach 6000 a.u.,which shows that the light source has exceedingly good luminous intensity.A single group chip of point-to-point optical communication is composed of waveguide as channel,led as light source and photodetector as receiver.It is observed that the communication reliability is fine under the PRBS signal with transmission rate of 3 Mbps.The analysis of the communication eye diagram indicates that the chip has high SNR,which further proves that the good waveguide is conducive to improve communication quality.The chip has a-3dB bandwidth of 4Mbps is showed by spectrum analysis.Finally,a point-to-point real-time communication system based on optical interconnection chip is designed and implemented,which provides a possibility and solution for the research and development of optical interconnection network on chip and multi scene communication fusion.
