As a trustworthy and unalterable distributed ledger,blockchain technology has been used widely around the world.Blockchain's application scenarios include financial accounting,digital property rights,supply chain traceability,decentralized games,decentralized social network,distributed storage,distributed computing,etc.However,the existing blockchain systems still have a variety problems,such as the imbalance between transaction performance and decentralization,the contradiction between security and openness,blockchain data expansion and so on.In order to solve these problems and create a better blockchain system,the industry has put forward many related ideas and specific solutions,such as GHOST protocol,Bitcoin-NG algorithm,Sharding,state channel,plasma,improved BFT consensus,etc.The main work of this paper is the research on blockchain performance improvement.Two original blockchain performance improvement schemes are proposed from two aspects in this paper:1)one is the optimization for block propagation process in the underlying network,and the other is the performance enhancement for transaction processing.The first scheme optimizes the process of the new block spreading to the whole blockchain network from three points: P2 P communication mode,block forwarding path,uplink and downlink bandwidth optimization.The first scheme can significantly improve the speed of a new block spreading to the whole network without compressing the block volume,so as to effectively improve the performance of the blockchain system with the security maintained.2)The second scheme is an original high-performance blockchain sharding algorithm,which can run on the top of an existing blockchain system as an abstract upper layer for efficiently sharding in the blockchain network.While the security and scalability are maintained by the second scheme,the blockchain's performance is also greatly improved.This paper hopes to contribute to the goal of building a better blockchain system and makes a prospect for the future work.
