Hardware Trojan is a kind of circuit with specific malicious purpose implanted in the circuit.Once the circuit is implanted in the Hardware Trojan,it may cause the secret information leakage of the circuit,destroy the chip function or even cause the chip function failure,which will bring great threat to the social economy and security.Therefore,the research on Trojan detection technology is very important for modern information security.In this dissertation,a Hardware Trojan detection method based on temperature sensor is proposed by using side-channel analysis technology,which can detect circuits that have a great impact on circuit power consumption.The main work and innovation of this dissertation are as follows:1.This dissertation starts with the stable temperature characteristics of chip and the circuit temperature characteristics after the activation of hardware Trojan,the temperature heat map before and after the activation of circuit trojan is obtained by using simulation tools,and the influence of the activation of Trojan on the circuit temperature characteristics is analyzed.In order to detect the Trojan with power signature,a temperature sensor is designed,which is embedded in the circuit,and a temperature sensor network is constructed to monitor the temperature power variation of the circuit.2.For the side-channel analysis method to detect the Hardware Trojan needs the golden chip as a reference,this dissertation adopts a self-similar solution,in which temperature sensors are embedded in the chip's internal similar structure(storage unit,data channel,function module,etc.),comparing the temperature differences between similar structures under the same excitation conditions,the temperature change is embodied by the output frequency change of the temperature sensor.This method can effectively reduce the interference caused by the variation of the inter-die process variation.3.In view of the problem that the side channel analysis method is greatly affected by the process variation,the temperature sensor proposed is designed to resist the process variation.Compared with other types of sensors,the proposed sensor is less affected by the process variation.For the simulation data,simple outlier analysis and difference analysis are used to compare the frequency differences of two similar structures to achieve the detection of Hardware Trojans.This method can not only effectively overcome the influence of process variation,but also does not need the golden model.The fluctuation range of process variation of temperature sensor output frequency is-5%?9%.The simulation experiment of detecting Trojan in AES circuit with SMIC 180 nm CMOS technology proves that this method can detect the Trojan which accounts for 0.43% of the host circuit.
