The rapid improvement of Internet of Things(IoT)technologies will support the complicated communications from machine to machine(M2M),from machine to human(M2H),and is expected to achieve the real information exchange and seamless connection,and real-time control and management of physical world.As one of the important implementation technologies of Io T,M2M communications are capable of realizating of the autonomous communications between devices,and between devices and communication infrastructures without human intervention.However,the characteristics of M2M communications,such as diverse service types,low power consumption,and massive access have brought great challenges to the radio resource management of the network.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:First,an overview of the network architecture,communication modes,and the key technologies and applications of M2M communications are introduced.On this basis,the current research states of radio resource management algorithms for M2M communications are analyzed.This thesis studies the resource management problem of a M2M communication system,which consists of a base station(BS)and a number of machine type communication devices(MTCDs),and proposes a joint resource allocation and clustering scheme.By defining system energy efficiency as the sum of the energy efficiency of MTCDs and considering the constraints including mode selection,transmission rate and resource allocation,the joint resource allocation and clustering optimization problem is formulated as an energy efficiency maximization problem.As the original optimization problem is a nonlinear fractional programming(NFP)problem,which cannot be easily solved,this thesis transforms it into power allocation subproblem and clustering subproblem.By solving the two subproblems by means of iterative method-based energy efficiency maximization algorithm and modified K-means algorithm,respectively,the joint resource allocation and clustering strategy is obtained.For an M2M communication system,which consists of a base station(BS),a number of gateways(GW)and a number of MTCDs,we study joint resource allocation scheme.The system energy consumption is defined as the sum of the energy consumption of all MTCDs and GWs,and by considering the constraints including the slot and channel allocation strategy,transmission mode,GW selection strategy,transmission rate,GW data conservation and resource allocation,the joint resource allocation problem is formulated as system energy consumption minimization problem.In order to solve the modeled optimization problem,we consider both single MTCD scenario and multiple MTCD scenario,and apply greedy algorithm and Kuhn-Munkres(K-M)algorithm-based subchannel conflicting strategy respectively to obtain the joint resource allocation strategy.
