Phased array radar has special advantages in observing high-speed moving targets,realizing multiple radar functions and multi-target tracking,and far-reaching radar range.It is the mainstream of today's radar development.Ultrawideband phased array radar has high measurement accuracy and anti-interference ability.Vivaldi antenna is a common antenna element in ultrawideband phased array because of its excellent impedance characteristics and wide bandwidth.Conformal phased array has broad application prospects due to its low profile,large effective aperture,easy wide-angle scanning,etc.So,in this paper,we studies ultrawideband Vivaldi array antenna.In this paper,the research background and research status of ultrawideband phased array and conformal phased array are introduced firstly,and the development of Vivaldi antenna,which is commonly used in broadband phased array,is mainly introduced.After that,the basic theory of phased array antenna and the principle of array mutual coupling are introduced,and an optimized fast design method for Vivaldi array is proposed.Secondly,based on the working principle of Vivaldi antenna and the traditional Vivaldi antenna structure,an all-metal Vivaldi antenna unit is designed,and optimized the impedance of each part of the antenna unit in the wireless array environment.Finally,the designed antenna unit operates in the frequency range of 2GHz?16 GHz and has wideband characteristics.It can be used as an array element of a wideband phased array antenna.Afterwards,qualitative analysis is carried out for the truncation effects commonly seen in Vivaldi array design,and two effective edge processing methods are proposed: virtual element method and corrugated structure edge.Then the planar Vivaldi phased array is designed with the virtual element method.A 1?8 linear Vivaldi array and an 8?8 planar phased array are designed respectively.The linear array bandwidth is 2.7 GHz ? 16 GHz,and the scanning can be realized in the range of ?45.The planer array can worked within the bandwidth of 3.4 GHz ? 16 GHz,and can be scaned in E and H planes within the scope of ?45 respectively.Finally,for the design of broadband cylindrical conformal phased array,the analysis method of conformal array is introduced firstly.Then the cylindrical conformal array based on all-metal Vivaldi unit is simulated to obtain the array elements under the conformal structure.The active pattern is finally integrated on the basis of the generalized active vector pattern.
