With the continuous development of augmented reality technology and the extensive use of mobile terminals,augmented reality game,as a new form of digital games,has gradually entered our daily lives.The application of emotional designing theory in the augmented reality games have refreshed players' experience,and the relative researches are therefore more desired.At the same time,the best matching pattern of cognitive psychology,an important referencing theory of the emotional designing in the augmented reality games,and the inherent of augmented reality games needs to be explored.Considering the features of augmented reality games that are different from the traditional digital games,including real-time interactions,virtuality-reality combination and situational immersion,the emotional designing has become a core identity for the public to recognize the augmented reality games.Therefore,basing on the cognitive psychology,this paper will place the augmented reality technology in the traditional digital games,re-evaluate the emotional designing in augmented reality games and explain the emotional designing features in the augmented reality games that are distinct from the traditional digital games.The goal is to conclude the structures and summarize the principles of emotional designing in augmented reality games,in the hope of providing referencing theories for relative creations in the future.This paper starts by describing the origin and development of augmented reality games.The relationships between the augmented reality games and augmented reality technology,as well as the reality space and virtual space are then discussed,accordingly.By analyzing the importance of emotional designing in augmented reality games,the revolutionary meaning of this application and the guiding role towards users' need are illustrated.Next,from the player's perspective,this paper explores the features of emotional designing of augmented reality games,and summarizes them from user experience controllability,user attention guidance,user emotion selectivity and metaphorical thinking of user behaviors.Then,combining the features above and relevant theories from cognitive psychology,the structure of emotional designing of augmented reality games is outlined from the perspectives of arousing user's curiosity,guiding user's emotion and grasping user's emotion.Finally,the principle of emotional designing of augmented reality games is proposed based on four aspects: architecture designing,space and scene designing,interaction designing,and art style designing.
