With the constantly advancement and development of research level,SoC technology becomes an important technology in the IC design system,and the development of the OCB and the advancement of IP core integration technology have further promoted the advancement of SoC,so this technology has a very important significance.The SMBus protocol is currently a commonly used bus protocol.Due to its simple structure,low design cost,efficient and convenient transmission,and strong compatibility,it is widely used in SoC products.Therefore,designing a SMBus controller based on the AMBA on-chip bus interconnection technology is of great significance in SoC system design.First of all,this article briefly summarizes the on-chip bus technology,and then focuses on analyzing and summarizing the AMBA bus architecture,as well as a more detailed description of the structural characteristics and transmission principles of AHB and APB.Then it introduces the SMBus bus in detail,including signal characteristics,structure introduction,timing relationship,transmission principle and part of the protocol analysis,and introduces the differences from the I2 C bus.Next,based on the above theoretical knowledge,the structural design and sub-module design of the SMBus controller based on AMBA bus were carried out,and the RTL design was completed using a top-down design method.Then it uses the relevant software to build the corresponding verification platform,and carries out functional simulation verification of the DFT,and then continues to carry out logical comprehensive verification to ensure the reliability and correctness of the design.The verification results shows that the functional design of the SMBus controller based on the AMBA bus designed in this paper is correct and can meet the design requirements of this paper.
