In the modern era where privacy security has received more and more attention,the digital key is vulnerable to loss,easy to be stolen and difficult to remember.Although the biometrics show their great advantages in the recognition technology due to their characteristics-uniqueness and stability,they also reveal the shortcomings in accuracy and the security problem of the template.Therefore,the biometric key generation and protection technology which combines the biometrics and cryptography has emerged as the society requires.It keeps the properties of the biometrics and the secret key while ensuring the security of the biological data at the same time.In order to generate a practical bio-key and ensure the security of the original biological data meanwhile,we have done some theoretical researches on the biometric key generation technology and some related experimental simulations were carried out on the fingerprint.We have proposed a bio-key generation algorithm based on the fingerprint distance and the generated intervals and a data encryption scheme based on the fingerprint bio-key and the time stamp.In this paper,it mainly contains the following three contents:1.The study of the theoretical knowledge related to the fingerprint bio-key generation technology.Besides,the image preprocessing,minutiae extraction and alignment of the fingerprint are illustrated and experimented respectively.Finally,the general process model of the bio-key generation algorithm based on the fingerprint is presented in summary.2.In order to ensure the security of the biological data,a fingerprint bio-key generation algorithm based on the feature distance and the generated interval is proposed.In the approach,the bio-key is generated based on the fingerprint feature distance.The proposed generated interval scheme implements the fault-tolerance of the fingerprint data and the revocability of the bio-key.In addition,the algorithm also applies a two-layer error correcting technique and the hash function to guarantee a better accuracy of the bio-key regeneration.Through the experimental simulation,performance analysis and the security evaluation,it is proved that the algorithm can ensure the security of the fingerprint data indeed while keeping a good fingerprint bio-key regeneration rate.3.Aiming at applying the bio-key in the two-party data transmission,a data encryption and decryption scheme based on the fingerprint bio-key and the time stamp is proposed.The bio-key is generated by the relative information of the fingerprint minutiae with a secret random matrix which implements the revocability of the bio-key at the same time.The proposed scheme combines the bio-key with the time stamp and the preset number to achieve the data encryption and transmission.The feasibility and security of the scheme are illustrated based on the experimental data analysis and evaluation.The proposed scheme realizes the sharing of the fingerprint bio-key as a digital identity meanwhile.Besides,the participation of the time stamp also achieves the vital concept-“one secret key for one event”,for the recovery of the fingerprint bio-key and makes the communication event unique and undeniable.
