Side channel attack is the use of cryptographic algorithms in the process of implementation time consumption,power consumption,electromagnetic radiation,such as side channel information leakage and the attack of the implementation of encryption devices.With the development of side channel attack technology and the improvement of people's requirement for information security,side channel leak assessment has become a necessary stage for the evaluation and certification of cryptographic chips.In the world,CC standard is mainly used for security assessment of cryptographic device,and China equivalent version GB /18336.The assessment process of CC standard with "attack orientation" requires professional operation,detailed analysis of cryptographic algorithm and implementation details,and it is not universal.At present,another standard method for leakage assessment is the test vector leak assessment method based on TVLA.This method has the advantages of easy to implement,easy to use and strong generality,and can effectively solve the above problems of CC standard,so it has become a popular research direction of side channel attack.Although the side channel leakage assessment scheme based on TVLA has many advantages,it has to meet various strict conditions in the assessment,and it is easy to be affected by experimental settings and make mistakes in the actual use.At the same time,it is found in practice that TVLA based on paired t-test can only play the role of rapidity and efficiency when it meets positive correlation sample condition;otherwise,wrong evaluation results will occur.In this paper,with the goal of accurate,efficient and fast evaluation scheme,the TVLA optimization scheme based on paired t-test is deeply researched.The main work and contributions of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the main influencing factors of the implementation process of TVLA based on Welch's t-test and paired t-test and the applicable conditions of the two t-tests were compared and analyzed.In the implementation process of TVLA,common noise generated by experimental measuring equipment and experimental environment temperature leads to positive correlation samples of sampling.In this case,TVLA based on paired t-test can play its advantages of rapidity,efficiency and robustness.In the sampling design of TVLA,it is difficult to avoid the sample correlation caused by the sequence of cross-input plaintext In order to accurately and quickly realize TVLA,the t-test should be optimized according to the positive and negative of sample correlation.Therefore,an experimental platform was set up and an evaluation experiment of three influencing factors was designed to verify the problems found in this paper.Then,the differences of the two t-tests and the requirements of the correlation coefficient on the selection of the two t-tests are analyzed theoretically.Combined with the statistical study of the correcting two-sample t-test,the two t-tests can be mutually modified by using T-value,degree of freedom and correlation coefficient to make the evaluation result more accurate.In this paper,a TVLA evaluation method based on two t-test mutually modified is proposed,which can give play to the efficiency of paired t-test and avoid errors.The results show that it is difficult to avoid the generation of related samples in the sampling process,and the optimization scheme in this paper can accurately and efficiently complete the evaluation.Finally,the optimized evaluation scheme of this paper is applied to the side channel leakage evaluation of the current popular post-quantum cryptographic algorithm.The validity of the optimization scheme in this paper is verified by evaluating the multivariable cryptographic algorithm QAUD implemented in parallel on the SAKURA-G evaluation board,and then the accuracy of the evaluation results is verified by combining with the register leakage model in the side channel attack analysis.The sample correlation caused by the sampling process cannot be avoided in the side channel leakage assessment process.The TVLA optimization scheme proposed in this paper can avoid the errors caused by the Welch's t-test or the paired t-test due to sample correlation.At the same time,it still has the efficiency of paired t-test,so it has good application value in the black box evaluation of cryptographic chips.
