With the maturity of the cloud service model, more and more cloud platforms have emerged. The service models provided on the cloud have diversified.Cloud tenants can rely on on-demand self-service to rent the resources of the cloud platform by paying fees.Tenants can dynamically apply for and release cloud resources in a manual or automated manner, reducing the overhead of hardware maintenance and effectively reducing operating costs. Therefore, dynamic scalability is an essential capability of the cloud platform. Then, from the perspective of dynamically allocating resources, measuring the level of a cloud platform is essential for cloud providers to optimize cloud infrastructure and cloud tenants to select clouds that match their application scenarios.Based on the above objectives,we propose a comprehensive and universal evaluation model for the dynamic expansion capability of the cloud infrastructure layer, and designs and implement a cloud assessment system that can be implemented specifically and a flexible cloud assessment tool. The evaluation model mainly includes evaluation indicators of vertical expansion, horizontal expansion and automatic expansion.By analyzing the realization theories and principles of the expansion strategy, combining the scalability, flexibility and efficiency of the cloud platform, and the relationship between resource supply and demand and service quality, the evaluation ideas are proposed and embodied as indicators to form an evaluation model. Then, according to the guidance of the evaluation ideas and evaluation models, select the load, indicators, design the test process, and substitute specific indicators into the model to form a cloud infrastructure evaluation system, and implement a cloud test tool to support visualization operation and versatility expansion. We firstly discusses the cloud platform service features, related assessment techniques and the cloud itself, including Iaa S cloud universal testing technology,Qo S and SLA in the cloud, virtualization technology,Open Stack open source cloud technology and two kinds of authority closely related to dynamic scalability. Then, the dynamic expansion problem is analyzed and refined into three sub-problems: vertical expansion, horizontal expansion and automatic expansion, and combined with cloud platform scalability, flexibility and efficiency. For each sub-aspect,starting from the principle of technology realization, the evaluation and deduction of each expansion method is analyzed in detail. Each assessment point in the assessment idea is embodied as an indicator, and the indicators are normalized and integrated to explain the formation of the evaluation model.Based on the evaluation ideas and evaluation models,we design an implementable evaluation system. The four parts of the evaluation system's load tools, indicators, test procedures and specific evaluation models are described in terms of different expansion perspectives.A cloud test tool integrating visualization, process control, indicator monitoring, storage and calculation is implemented in each part of the cloud assessment system by means of program implementation. Finally,we build an Open Stack experimental cloud environment and conduct dynamic extended test experiments.According to the evaluation system designed in this paper, the test results of vertical, horizontal and automatic expansion performance are respectively assisted by test tools. The experimental results are analyzed and explained, and the experimental data is input into the evaluation model for calculation. The dynamic expansion capability level of the cloud platform is obtained. The experimental results confirm the feasibility and rationality of the evaluation system.
