The Survival Of Internet Employees Under The Curse Of "996"

996 working system refers to the working system that employees work from 9:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m and work six days a week.On March 21,2019,a project named"996ICU" was launched on GitHub.All kinds of employees began to disclose their own "996ICU" Internet company on the website and boycott the 996 work system of the Internet company.In recent years,the development of China's Internet industry has made rapid progress,but as enterprises enter the Internet cloud and become "lighter",employees are increasingly "heavier" in their work.There is a very explicit extension of working hours,and there is also the Internet companies' indifference to the rights of staff layoff protection,health protection and other aspects.It can be predicted that,with several times of news of Internet infringing on the rights and interests of employees being exposed,the 996 work system and its "extension products" need to be discussed in the social context.Therefore,this design will focus on the employees of Internet companies,and comprehensively use case study,literature,in-depth interview and participation observation.Among dozens of Internet company employees and their families,employees with representative attitude towards 996 work system were selected for in-depth contact and visit.At the same time,combined with the interviews and exchanges of housing agents,acting lawyers and social forces that reflect the class problems of the Internet industry,and with the "996 new frontier" generated by Internet companies during the epidemic,a group of in-depth reports are used to try to present the living conditions of Internet employees when they are faced with the 996 work system and infringed by various rights,and at the same time,they will also present the supporters of the 996 work system and finally reflect on it.
