With the in-depth development of social media,it has an important influence on people's lives and has become a part of people's lives. While social media brings convenience to people, the drawbacks of social media are gradually emerging, and problematic use is an important aspect.Problematic use has caused a lot of trouble for people's lives. For example, people using social media for relaxation at work may lead to reduced work efficiency. Therefore, reducing problematic use behavior has become a focus that deserves attention. In the current literature on problematic use,self-control is simply used to explain the problem of reducing problematic use. However, reducing problematic use is a complicated mechanism. For example, although everyone has been concerned about the negative impact of such behavior, the phenomenon of problematic use is still endless. This paper will construct the instructional norms and neutralization methods based on the cognitive dissonance theory as a theoretical framework to reduce the impact of problematic use.Explains the complex internal mechanisms that reduce problematic use.In addition, different types of groups will have different focuses. In this study, individuals are divided into two types:promotion focus and defensive focus, and explore which way these two types of individuals prefer. This article uses a questionnaire survey method, through the domestic questionnaire website-questionnaire star, through online collection.A total of 346 valid questionnaires were collected.Analyze data and validate the research model using SPSS 23.0 and smart pls 2.0.Focus on the following conclusions:First, the specification has two different paths of influence that are completely opposite to the neutral.Among them, the prescriptive norms have a direct impact on reducing problematic use behavior. On the other hand, the prescriptive specification reduces the problematic use behavior through the indirect influence of the sensation.Neutralize reduces the problematic use behavior by indirect negative effects through guilt.Second, adjusting the focus of the focus will adjust the impact of the directive specification and neutrality on the sense of guilt.Among them, users who are more inclined to focus on the defensive focus tend to rely more on the influence of neutrality on the sense of guilt, while users who are defensively focused tend to rely more on the command specification than the users who promote the focus. The theoretical innovations of this paper are:(1)This paper reveals the impact of instructional norms and neutralization on social and indi vidual levels, and the direction of both is positive and negative for problematic enriching the research on the problematic use of social media.(2)Exploring the influence of two different approaches on users with different characteristics, breaking the limitations of self-control only in the literature, and more clearly explaining the internal mechanism of problematic use of social media. The practical significances of this paper are:(1)For social media platforms, this study can make the social media platform more aware of the impact mechanism of problematic usage behavior. When the platform is designed and developed,it can help users reduce the behavior of problematic use.(2)For the organization, this study reveals that in addition to self-control,the norm is also important for the impact of personal behavior,so the organization should rational use of normative information, which is conducive to the correct guidance of the rational use of social media APP.(3)For users, this study reveals that self-control is not the only way to reduce the problematic use of social media, nor is it the only cause of failure in problematic use.At the same time, the user is made aware of his own behavioral deviations, and changes his cognitive bias to promote the change of cognitive dissonance to reasonably plan his use behavior.
