Waveguide slot array antennas are widely used in narrow beam antennas,shaped-beam antennas,microwave communication and radar systems.It is the preferred form in the design of airborne radar antenna because of its small size,light weight,high efficiency and low side lobe characteristics.In this thesis,depth research was done on the design of rectangular waveguide edge slot array and wide slot array.Due to the complexity of the structure of the slots array,it is difficult to obtain a closed form from theory directly.In tradition,to design low-sidelobe slots antenna,we must get the mutual coupling from experiment,which brought great error and heavy workload.Therefore,based on the traditional theoretical analysis,the analysis in this thesis with high-frequency simulation software HFSS,extracted the slots' parameters that include mutual coupling.This method greatly simplifies the design time and costs,meanwhile it ensure the effectiveness of the design.In this paper,we designed a X-band edge slot planar array that suppressed the cross-polarization.We also designed a wide slot array with a horn to control the azimuth beam width.A cosecant shaped-formed slots array power divider was designed too.From the result of simulation,they all satisfied the index.From the simulation,we produce a edge slots array with 8%bandwith.The test result is satisfying with-33.5dB sidelobe.The wide slot array with horn and cosecant shaped-formed slots array pow divider are all produced.All the test result are fine.The power divider was connected with the low sidelobe antenna to form a large antenna shape formed system.That is used on some international key project.
