The Research Of NDN-based Video Conference System

At present,the mainstream architecture of video conference system is based on two types of network,including the circuit switched network and the packet switched network.The video conference system based on circuit switched network can provide high quality of data transmission services and the data reception delay,jitter and bit error rate are relatively low,but the bandwidth utilization is low and the cost of the transmission line is high.This type of video conference system is still being used in some private network.The video conference system based on packet switched network is the most widely used type.The construction investment of the user is low,the bandwidth utilization and the compatibility of the terminals are high,but the transmission quality cannot be guaranteed.Named data networking,as the most popular future network architecture,is proposed by Professor Zhang Lixia of University of California at Los Angeles.It is a content centric network,which makes up for many defects in design of TCP/IP through various improvements and innovations.The main content of this thesis is to combine named data networking with video conference system.In this thesis,the overview,classification and mainstream international standards of the video conference system is introduced,then we discuss the system architecture,design ideas and work mechanism of named data networking,design a video conference system based on named data networking,and make some changes in caching mechanism,content storage,routing and forwarding.Finally,the ndnSIM simulation platform is used to simulate on two application environment of video conference system,the private network and the public network.The experiment results prove that it is feasible to apply named data networking to video conference system,and the transmission performance of the system conforms to the industry standard.
