In recent years,droplet microfluidics have been a research hotspot.Among them,microfluidic static droplet array draws a lot of attention for it's capable of droplets generation and storage.However,there are few studies on the generation principle of droplet generation in SDA structure.Moreover,the method of synthesizing micro-particles using this microfluidics device has not been reported yet.In this paper,we firstly introduce the conventional methods of generating droplets in microfluidics,along with structures,principles and applications of SDA;secondly we explore the fabrication process of microfluidic chip based on polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)and build a multi-channel air-driven experiment platform based on Arduino.Thirdly,in order to validate the two theoretical models of SDA droplet generation,flow resistance model and surface tension model,which can describe the generation process of SDA more accurately,we established the related model by COMSOL software and fabricated six kinds of SDA chips,whose structures included circle,ellipse,diamond and rectangle.By comparing the results of the simulation and experiment,we can conclude that the flow resistance model has defects.In the two methods of calculating the surface tension model of COMSOL,level set method and phase field method,the simulation results of the level set method are closer to the real situation,and the computational cost is smaller.In the experiment of SDA particle synthesis,agarose particles with SDA structure were prepared by using agarose as raw material.For the first time,it is verified that the SDA template method can be used for the preparation of special particles.This paper introduces a kind of particle synthesis technology based on microfluidic SDA template model,discusses the SDA droplet formation mechanism,verifies the surface tension model is more suitable for SDA generation process,establishes SDA generation model by COMSOL level set method and successfully synthesizes agarose particles,verifies the feasibility of particle synthesis by SDA template method with all kinds of shapes.This paper provides a new method and thought for the preparation of the special particles in microfluidic synthesis process.
