Power dividers/combiners are a component that divide/combine the power of the signal and they are widely used for microwave system.Although the waveguide-based structure has the advantage of high power capability and low insertion loss,it is high-cost and big size.Microstrip-based has compact size,low cost and easy fabeicated,but the capability of the microstrip structure is low and the insertion loss is high because of no shielded.Substrate Integrated Waveguide(SIW)is a structure that is combined waveguide with substrate integrated technology.It has advantage of the lower cost than waveguide structure and higher power capability than microstrip structure.Substrate Integrated Coaxial Line(SICL)is a structure that is combined coaxial line with substrate integrated technology.This structure combines the advantage of coaxial of the coaxial cables and of the planar transmission lines.Consequently,it is worth investigating on the SIW and SICL power divider/combiner.The work of this dissertation are arranged as follows:1.Based on substrate integrated waveguide,the 4-way,8-way and 16-way radial power dividers/combiners were designed,fabricated and measured.Two layers of the substrate were employed to design the power dividers/combiners.One layer is the radial SIW cavity and the other is the star structure isolation circuit.The 4-way power divider/combiner employed multi-hole probe to match the ports.The 8-way and the 16-way power dividers/combiners employed step-hole probe to match the ports.Otherwise,the radial slots were employed to improve the isolation on the 16-way power divider/combiner.2.Based on substrate integrated coaxial line,the 2-way,4-way and 8-way power dividers/combiners were designed.Two layers of the substrate were employed to design a 2-way Gysel power divider/combiner with folded structure and miniaturization.Otherwise,a 4-way and a 8-way power dividers/combiners were designed,fabricated and measured with three layers.The power dividers/combiners consist of two-layers SICL circuits and one-layer isolation circuits with star structure.Furthermore,the air cavity is employed to adjust the impedance of SICL circuits.
