With the development of phased array radar technology,multi-channel transceiver modules in millimeter wave systems have received more and more attention.The phase consistency,stability,versatility and miniaturization between the channels are the main development directions at present.Based on multi-layer composite medium substrate technology,this paper designs a Ka-band eight-channel transceiver module.The module is located at the back end of the phased array transceiver antenna unit and is mainly used in the radar system.The eight-channel transceiver module can realize the functions of numerical control phase shifting of the transmitted signal,power amplification of the transmitted signal,low noise amplification of the received signal,digital phase shifting and attenuation of the received signal.The eight-channel transceiver module designed in this subject has a significant advantage in miniaturization,and its size is only 40×46×7mm~3.This paper starts from the index requirements of the eight-channel transceiver module,draws the principle block diagram,and completes the design of the RF link.Based on the transmission line theory,three passive structures were designed and implemented by HFSS electromagnetic simulation software:four-division micro-band Wilkinson power splitter,SMP connector to RO5880 soft-base film transition and transition between the circulator and the substrate.In this subject,each signal has a 6-bit phase 5-bit attenuation requirement.The control of the phase-shifting attenuation chip in the eight-channel channel and the transmission and reception consistency of the amplifier chip in the transceiver channel are the key points of the control circuit design.In addition,this paper studies the key technologies of multi-layer laminate design,electromagnetic compatibility design between channels,and module heat dissipation design.On this basis,the structural design of the eight-channel transceiver module is completed.It is realized by multi-layer plate mixing technology and film substrate processing technology.Finally,the assembly test of the module shows that the Ka-band eight-channel transceiver module can initially complete the 6-displacement phase and 5-bit attenuation control function;the voltage standing wave ratio at the junction port is about 1.5,and the voltage standing wave ratio at the antenna output port is about 3;the receiving gain and the transmitting gain do not meet the requirements of the index;the phase consistency and gain consistency between the 6th channel and the 7th channel are good.
