With the rapid development of modern electronic technology and modern communication technology,Electronic and wireless systems are putting forwarding more and more requirements.Now radio communications systems and radar systems are increasingly using array antennas,Because the array antenna is easy to realize narrow beam,low side lobe and phase control beam scanning,it can improve the reliability,stability and real-time performance of the finding target and tracking target.When the conventional array antenna is synthesizing ultra-low side lobe,the range of dynamic excitation of the antenna unit is higher than time modulation antenna array,which makes the design difficulty of the feed network increase and the cost becomes higher.On the basis of the conventional antenna array,time modulation antenna array need to access to the high-speed RF switch for each array element,in order to control the incentive status of each unit,we can periodically control the high-speed RF switch on and off,we can realize the control of the antenna array pattern by adjusting the time switch sequence,excitation amplitude and phase.Therefore,This paper is mainly divided into the following three parts:The first part focuses on the research background,the basic principle of antenna array,and analyzes the characteristics of linear array,this paper introduces the two methods of conventional antenna array synthesis.The second part mainly introduces the basic structure and principle of time modulated antenna arrays,and introduces the common way of time modulation.the optimal time modulation array antenna is optimized by using the differential evolution algorithm.And the detailed process of differential evolution algorithm is introduced.Then we introduce the basis theory of sum-difference beam single pulse.In the end,the basic principle of the small phase perturbation phase only algorithm is introduced,and the method is applied to the synthesis of time modulation array antenna to generate zero depression.Lastly,we introduces the significance of several parameters in the differential evolution algorithm and their influence on the algorithm.We use the value of strategy into the integrated numerical optimization of time modulated antenna arrays,and compare the performance of this value strategy with the performance of this value strategy in the references.In this paper,The advantages of time modulation array antenna are verified by simulation results.The research of this paper illustrates the advantages of time modulation array antenna in practical engineering applications.
