PAA(Power analysis attack)despites from the complex encryption algorithm but exploits the power consumption leaks from the encryption devices,it has the ability of concealed,limited overheads and powerful analysis skills.Recently,PAA has become a major threat to the Information security.Maintaining the secrecy of keys under this so-called PAA is challenging.Hence,it is an urgent to provide a hardware level serurity for encryption devices.PUF(Physical Unclonable Function),as a security primitive of hardware,is very appropriate in this application scenario.Prior works have demonstrate that permutation masking scheme is a power method for PAA countermeasure.However,this masking scheme lacks the consideration of the leakages derived from simultaneously updated registers and the randomness of masks.In view of this vulnerability,we propose an anti-PAA encryption circuit based on Latch PUF,including an improved permutation tables masking scheme and a Latch PUF based TRNG(True Random Number Generator).In the first part of our design,we propose to randomly exchange the contents of registers to improve the security against PAA under Hamming distance model.In the second part of our design,we symmetrically placed the XOR corrector and introduce the feed forward loop into TRNG.Finally,we implenmentated this design in Xilinx SP3 E FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array).Functional evalution results demonstrate that our design can steadily work on 50 MHz frequency.For security issue,NIST(National Institute of Standards and Technology)test shows that our Latch PUF based TRNG pass the random number results with a higher P-value.Also,PAA evalution results shows that the coefficient reduced from 0.8 to nearly 0,which demonstrate that our improved permutation masking scheme provides a relatively higher security against PAA that the conventional permuatiton masing scheme.The improved permutation tables masking scheme can be integrated into DES(Data Encryption Standard)and AES(Advanced Encryption Standard),has broad application.Moreover,our Latch PUF based TRNG has the advantage of low overheads and easily implementation,it can be applied for other random number applications.
