As the basic parameters of the spatial motion target,radar cross section is an important feature to characterize the target pose and motion characteristics.In the radar detection network,radar system parameters need to be calibrated in order to accurately describe the target radar cross section values.At the same time,in order to improve the observation accuracy,it is also necessary to correct the radar observation azimuth,observation distance and observation pitch angle.However,under certain band radars,in the traditional calibration method of the calibration ball,the calibration ball is in the oscillation area,it is difficult to satisfy the far field calibration conditions,and the engineering operation is difficult.Using satellites for calibration can make up for the lack of calibration balls.In the use of satellites for radar calibration,the quality of the selected arc directly affects the accuracy of radar calibration.Therefore,this paper studies the calibration arc segment selection method for radar calibration.The main tasks include:(1)A preliminary screening method for calibration arcs is proposed.After determining the radar working mode,correcting hardware parameters,and determining the radar priority,the satellite trajectory is calculated based on the satellite orbital number,combined with the observation power of the radar,and the observable arc segment is obtained.Based on the established principle,the arc segment is initially screened.(2)A calibration arc selection method based on efficiency optimization is proposed.Determine the factors affecting the efficiency of the arc segment and quantify it,design the calculation function of the arc segment effectiveness value,and the method of adjusting the arc segment performance value.After the arc segment is selected,the calibration result is evaluated.(3)Designed and implemented an arc selection prototype system.The prototype system is designed and implemented around the first two parts.Finally,the performance of the prototype system was tested using real-world scenarios,and compared with the existing arc segment selection method.The results show that the arc segment selected based on the calibration arc selection method proposed in this paper can effectively improve the radar detection accuracy.
