Array antennas have been widely used in communications,navigation,electronic countermeasures,radar,etc.,due to their easily available beam narrowing,high gain,low side lobe pattern and beam scanning.The sparse array antenna can obtain the required pattern through relatively few antenna elements,thereby reducing the complexity of the antenna system feed network and decreasing cost.Research on the sparse array antenna has considerably potential value in its practical applications.In this paper,the modified Cuckoo algorithm is applied to the pattern synthesis of the sparse array antenna,and it is expected that the excellent radiation pattern can be obtained by fewer antenna elements.The main research contents are as followings:1.In view of the shortcomings of the basic Cuckoo algorithm in the late stage of the algorithm and the low accuracy of the solution,this paper has taken some optimization methods such as chaosing the initial nest,inducing the dynamic step factor and stopping the blocking strategy.The effectiveness and stability of the modified algorithm is verified by the four standard test functions.2.The modified Cuckoo algorithm is used to beam-form the uniform linear array and the sparse linear array,and the optimization results are compared with other intelligent algorithms to verify the effectiveness of the improved algorithm in the synthesis of the sparse linear array pattern.3.By using the modified Cuckoo algorithm for the pattern synthesis of the concentric cloth concentric rings,and comparing the results with other improved intelligent algorithms,the validity is verified.In addition,this paper also proposes the MCS_Bessel algorithm based on the modified Cuckoo algorithm.By means of the Bessel function of the concentric circular array pattern,the multivariate optimization variables of the concentric circular array pattern are transformed into unit optimization variables,which greatly reduces the complexity of pattern synthesis.
