Synthetic aperture radar has the ability of high-resolution imaging all time and all weather.It is the main form of microwave imaging sensors.It has a very good application in both the military field and the civilian fields.The application of SAR mainly depends on SAR image quality.The assessment of SAR image quality is the bridge that connecting SAR system and SAR image application.It has always been a very important issue in the field of SAR research.By far,the parameter system of SAR image quality assessment is still not perfect,and there is no proper tool to assess SAR image quality specially.Therefore,the research in SAR image quality becomes more important.This paper further improves the parameter system of SAR image quality assessment based on the existing parameter system.These parameters are modulation transfer function based on spatial frequency?plane grid resolution and response function of point target.They can reflect the inversion capability of SAR in real scene which is helpful to get comprehensive assessment of SAR image quality to a certain degree.In this paper,each parameter has done a systematic introduction including the definition?physical meaning and calculation methods.There is not a specialized tool to assess the SAR image quality until now.Therefore we decided to develop a kind of software to do SAR image quality assessment in this paper.The software is based on OGRE(Object-oriented Graphics Rendering Engine)which is a powerful engine especially in game development.It can ensure the performance of the software.We make a systematic introduction in architecture design?process design and function design of the software.And the basic function of the software has already done.
