The positioning and detection system of odd-shaped components is the core technology of Auto-Insert Machine.Due to the slenderness of pins and the complexity of components,the bottom reflection of complex multi-lead components will occur.The traditional method with bottom-camera has some limitations in pin positioning and detection.The pin positioning method for backlight images acquisition by side-camera eliminates the problem of bottom reflection,making the pin image clear.However,due to the large number of pins in multi-lead components,the pins will occlude each other at some imaging angles.In order to solve the problem of pin positioning in this case,a visual precise positioning and detection method for multi-pin components based on pin silhouettes is proposed.A method of locating complex multi-lead components based on pin silhouettes is proposed.Using rotational stereo vision to construct a multi-vision system,the camera takes the image of the pin silhouette images of different angles.The center position of pin section is obtained by fitting the tangent circle of projection line cluster corresponding to pin edge points.The calibration of multi-lead element positioning system is calibrated,and the process and method of component rectification are proposed.A detection method of multi-lead components based on silhouette is proposed.In the method,Two non-pin overlapping component silhouette images are captured from two different camera angles.Through detection of the two images,the pin defect is judged.Because unobstructed shooting angle is needed to be selected,according to the characteristics of component feeder and Auto-Insert Machine,a method of obtaining unobstructed shooting angle range in rotational stereo vision system is proposed.A visual positioning experimental platform for multi-lead components was built.Through pin positioning experiments on different number of pins,the experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively solve the problem of multi-lead component positioning.At the same time,the method can accurately position fewer pin elements,verifying the stability of the positioning method.The efficiency analysis experiments of pin positioning and detection methods are carried out.The results show that the efficiency of this method in positioning and detecting complex multi-lead components meets the requirements of Auto-Insert Machine.
