The beam-switching antenna array increases the range of scanning angles while improving directivity, gain, and noise rejection. The spectrum range around 60 GHz is wide, and the information capacity is large, which can be used for short-distance communication, automotive radar sensors, vital sign detection, and urban high-speed Internet of things connection. At present, the open frequency band of 60 GHz has been extended from 53 GHz to 67 GHz.Therefore, the 60 GHz wideband beam-switching antenna array based on Butler matrix studied in this paper is of great significance in the field of vital sign detection. In addition, this paper also studies the dual-frequency phase shifter with the phase shift value arbitrarily set at two frequencies, which will have an important impact on the dual-frequency reconfigurable antenna and the dual-frequency phased array antenna. The specific work of this paper is as follows:The first part introduces the topology of the basic Butler matrix and its beamforming principle. Then the basic principles of wideband coupler, wideband crossover and wideband phase shifter are introduced. The second part introduces the basic principle and technical parameters of the phase shifter. Then the basic principle of the reflective phase shifter is highlighted. The third part introduces the specific design and simulation process of 60 GHz wideband beam-switching antenna array based on Butler matrix.Firstly, wideband coupler, wideband crossover, wideband phase shifter and wideband patch antennas are designed and optimized respectively. It is then integrated for overall simulation optimization. The final antenna array can form four clear beams within the bandwidth of 53GHz~67GHz under different port excitations with good beam directivity and gain up to 7.8dBi.The fourth part introduces the specific derivation process of the dual-frequency phase shifter using two K-converters,the ?-type network converter and the symmetrical step-impedance converter. And through ADS,it is verified that the two dual-frequency phase shifters with 90° phase shift at one frequency point, and arbitrary phase shift at the other frequency point is feasible. At the same time, the dual-frequency 90° phase shifters based on two K-converter designs are manufactured. And the error between the measurement and the simulation is between ±1.5°.
