With the development of technology, software has become an indispensable part of our daily lives. However,as technology and environment continue to change, consumer demand for software is also changing and improving. In addition,as the scale of software grows, the costs of software maintenance are also increasing.Defects in software products become inevitable.Since the 1970 s,the term "Software Crisis" has become popular gradually.Every year, software companies must spend a lot of money to maintain products to meet consumer's new demand or fix defects in past versions. However, consumers do not very agree with the behaviors of the company's product upgrading.Searching for the keyword "Automatic update" on Internet, most of the results are about how to block the function of updates. This is a huge waste of resources and failure for software companies with high maintenance costs. In 1981,American scholar Jagdish N.Sheth proposed the theory of "Innovation Resistance".He believes that: The reasons why consumers resist products innovation are the followings.First, consumers must change their existing habits when using innovative products.Second, new features of products can cause perceived risks to consumers. The greater the change in habit, the stronger the resistance to innovation. The greater the consumer's perceived risk, the stronger the resistance to innovation. This article takes the Windows 10 operating system as an example and adopts the innovation resistance theory to conduct a questionnaire survey on 382 computer users.Questionnaires of 301 consumers who are still using Windows before Windows 10 at work or in life are filtered.Correlation analysis and linear regression were performed on the data through the SPSSAU data analysis platform. It is proved that the function update and performance update in the software product to upgrade can generate the change of existing habits and perceived risk to consumers, which leads to the consumer's innovation resistance behavior. It also calculates how much the two types of updates will affect consumers' innovation resistance behavior. The results can be used for software companies' references,so that they can be reasonably planned during the product update process.Better service for consumers. |
