Since the concept of artificial electromagnetic materials was proposed,it has attracted a lot of attention.The artificial electromagnetic material is a periodic or aperiodic structure composed of sub-wavelength units,and can have many characteristics that are not possessed by substances in nature,and can effectively improve the performance of optical or microwave devices.In the design of artificial electromagnetic materials,the theory of transform optics is a powerful research method,which can more intuitively find the material parameters needed for the design.In this paper,the artificial electromagnetic material and the principle of transform optics will be used to study and analyze the radiation characteristics of the antenna.The main work contents are as follows:(1)To expand the bandwidth of the omnidirectional mode of the circular patch antenna as the research goal,the transformation optical theory is used to derive the continuous distribution characteristics of the material parameters on the dielectric plate.Then it is analyzed from the perspective of the field,and the distribution characteristics of the other two materials are obtained.Through simulation verification,the addition of the above metamaterial can effectively increase the bandwidth of the patch antenna.The bandwidth of the circular patch antenna designed by the theory of transform optics has increased to 43.9%.(2)Designing the cover plate of the patch antenna to realize multi-beam is the research goal.Firstly,the material parameters pushed by the transform optics are simplified from three-dimensional to two-dimensional,and the simplified material properties and simplification are verified by simulation.The previous material properties are consistent.(3)A discrete approximation of the material parameters is derived from the above research,and a multi-layer super-surface structure is constructed by using the electrical resonance unit,which is placed on the patch antenna to realize multi-beam radiation.Based on the above analysis,the combination of artificial electromagnetic materials and transform optical theory will provide a new way for antenna design.In addition,the new method proposed in this paper can provide new ideas for the artificial electromagnetic surface designed in the future.
