With the development and popularity of the Internet,social media,as a new way of public life,is gradually took the place of traditional media and became an essencial part of working life.Under this background,social media has become an important form of communication in the Internet due to its ease of use and timeliness.And it has been widely promoted and applied within the enterprise.Therefore,how to employ the maximum function of social media in the workplace has gradually received the attention of managers and become a new issue for organizations.This study completely considers the two characteristics of social media work and social interaction,and explores the impact of social media usage on employee performance and the multiple mediating roles of work status and interpersonal relationships in the use of social media to influence employee performance.Using the questionnaire method of “leader-subordinate” pairing survey,187 questionnaires were distributed in enterprises in Henan and Shanghai,and 147 valid questionnaires were collected.The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics,reliability analysis,regression analysis,bias-corrected nonparametric percentile bootstrap and other statistical methods.The conclusions drawn are as follows:(1)Based on the perspective of work status,work-related social media use can affect performance by influencing employees' working status.In particular,work engagement played partial mediating role in the process of work based social media use influence performance.(2)Based on the perspective of interpersonal relationship,social-related social media use can affect performance by influencing employees' interpersonal relationship.In particular,interpersonal trust and relational conflict played partial mediating role in the process of social based social media use influence performance.(3)Based on the perspective of Integration,The use of social media could positive predict employees' work performance,working status and interpersonal relationship played a parallel multiple mediation between spiritual leadership and task performance.
