Microstrip antennas are widely used in microwave applications due to their simple structure and compatibility with printed circuit technology.Circularly polarized antennas based on microstrip structures are widely used in a variety of scenarios because in-line polarized radiation is less sensitive to antenna position than circularly polarized radiation and is more advantageous in resisting multipath fading.This paper studies the circularly polarized antenna based on microstrip structure for two different engineering applications.First of all,this paper briefly describes the working principle of the circularly polarized antenna and some basic parameters of the antenna.In addiation the paper gives a brief description of the commonly used simulation software.Secondly,this paper studies the circularly polarized antenna in the radio frequency identification(RFID)system in the context of structural health monitoring applications.Three microstrip circularly polarized antennas were designed and simulated by HFSS simulation software.For the background environment in structural health monitoring,the performance parameters of the antenna such as-10dB return loss band,3dB axis ratio band offset and The simulation of the change of the frequency band is carried out,which provides a certain guiding role for the design of the circularly polarized antenna in the application background.Finally,for microwave navigation applications such as satellite navigation and Wimax,this paper designs a microstrip circularly polarized dual-band antenna operating at 2.15 GHz and 2.45 GHz.The antenna consists of a pair of metal patches attached to the dielectric board.The slot-coupled feed structure is stacked to have the advantages of miniaturization and high gain.This chapter provides a design idea for the design of dual-band circularly polarized antennas operating in the microwave band.
