In recent years, with the rise of Internet of Things,Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality,4K/8K and other network technologies, services and applications, mobile data traffic is growing rapidly.Data shows that video traffic accounts for nearly 80%of the fast-growing mobile data traffic, and this proportion is increasing year by year. The explosive growth of network traffic dominated by video services will not only bring great challenges to the content distribution of mobile networks, but also cause the consumption of a large amount of energy in mobile communication networks, thus aggravating environmental pollution. In order to further improve and solve the problems faced by the above mobile networks in video distribution, this paper takes the green energy-saving communication of video applications as the starting point, and carries out a series of research around video distribution scenarios in mobile networks.Firstly, around the video distribution technology itself, this paper studies the evolution of video distribution technology from the perspective of basic protocols.Secondly,in the context of the evolution of mobile network architecture and the development of mobile caching technology, this paper studies the related network architecture of Content Delivery Network(CDN),Mobile CDN(MCDN)and Multi-Access Edge Computing(MEC),and analyses its applications in the field of video distribution. Finally,on the basis of theoretical research, this paper focuses on the key issue of green energy-saving communication for video distribution in mobile networks. In view of the widespread popularity of the 4th Generation Mobile Communication(4G)and the inevitable trend of the 5 th Generation Mobile Communication(5 G),this paper launches the following researches based on the background of 4G network and MEC enhanced 5G network respectively:1)In traditional 4G mobile network, considering the"tide effect"of base stations, this paper proposes to combine base station caching with base station dormancy, and designs a joint cache and base station activation strategy aiming at minimizing energy consumption.2)Aiming at the upcoming 5G,this paper proposes that MEC nodes be used as caching and computing nodes to achieve content caching and real-time transcoding on the wireless side, and then designs an energy-efficient video distribution solution based on joint caching and transcoding scheduling.3)Finally,in the simulation stage, two classical combinatorial optimization algorithms,Quantum-inspired Evolutionary Algorithm(QEA)and Simulated Annealing(SA)algorithm, are introduced to solve the above problems. The simulation results and comparative analysis show that, the proposed joint cache and base station dormancy strategy,as well as MEC joint cache and transcoding scheduling strategy, have better performance compared with other common video distribution schemes, and have good reference value in practical application scenarios. On this basis, this paper also introduces other algorithms solving common combinatorial problems, such as greedy algorithm, for simulation comparison, which also verifies the efficiency and accuracy of the QEA and SA.
