The traditional TCP/IP network architecture has supported the Internet for decades.Although the hardware and software of both ends at the network have been developing rapidly, the network architecture almost remained unchanged. With the continuous development of mobile Internet,Internet of Things and big data, people show increasingly stern demands for high network performance. In addition, the best-effort network architecture lacks the support for quality of service(QoS)guarantee. The deployment of new functions and protocols in the network can only be realized by means of Overlay owing to the inflexible network architecture.Software Defined Networking(SDN)has centralized network architecture which raises the programmability and scalability of the network by separating the control plane and the forwarding plane. How ever, the mainstream OpenFlow protocol in SDN network still holds the problem with the lack of supporting protocol-independent.However,the appearance of protocol oblivious forwarding(POF)solves the original short slab of SDN.This thesis disscusses the related research of network programmability and SDN control plane, and proposes improved POF based on the research of POF and POF prototype system. Then,on the basis of ONOS,design and develop modules such as protocol support, device discovery and packet forward to realize protocol-independent support.Relevant experiments show that the protocol-independent SDN control system developed in this paper can be used in protocol-independent network environment. The system inherits many advantages of ONOS controller, such as high modularity and high performance. It provides network developers with various northbound interfaces such as CLI and REST,by using these interfaces, network developers can build network applications flexibly and take control of protocol-independent networks.
