With the rapid development of technologies in the field of wireless communications, the demand for information transmission is increasing, and the requirements for information transmission rates are also increasing. How to improve the utilization of frequency resources has become a key issue to be solved in the field of communication. The emergence of Orbital Angular Momentum(OAM)provides new hope for solving the problem of tight spectrum resources. This paper focuses on the theory and design of related antennas that generate orbital angular momentum electromagnetic beams. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, the current status of orbital angular momentum research at home and abroad is summarized, and the basic knowledge of orbital angular momentum is introduced. The method of optimizing the impedance matching bandwidth and gain of the antenna is also introduced. It lays the foundation for the antenna design work.Secondly, three antennas capable of generating beam with orbital angular momentum were designed and simulated.Compared with the traditional antenna, the advantages of these three antennas are mainly to generate beams containing orbital angular momentum through patch antennas of a single feed point. The structure of the antenna is relatively simple and the size is small, which is convenient for processing. Finally, the electromagnetic impedance band gap structure(Electromagnetic Band-Gap,EBG)and Fabry-Perot resonator are used to optimize the impedance matching bandwidth and gain of the antenna.Four optimized antennas were designed. The optimized antenna is simulated and analyzed.Compared with the original structure, the bandwidth and impedance matching performance of the antenna are greatly improved.
