Underwater imaging technology and underwater image restoration methods have been applied in production and life.The underwater image restoration method based on polarization information can effectively improve the imaging quality in the scattering medium.However,the existing methods are limited by the structure of the acquisition system,and it is difficult to obtain the real scene backscattering distribution.The backscattering is estimated mainly by the assumption of constants and the fitting method,resulting in serious image distortion after restoration.Aiming at the above problems,this paper proposes a polarization underwater image restoration algorithm that combines light fields.Combining light field synthetic aperture imaging technology with polarization imaging technology.The multi-view information of the scene is acquired in one acquisition process,and the polarization information corresponding to each view is obtained,which effectively increases the information dimension obtained by single imaging.At the same time,the large field of view and multi-view scene information can be obtained by means of the light field synthetic aperture imaging method,thereby obtaining the true backscattering distribution in the scene,thereby completing the initial restoration operation of each sub-view image.Then,the light field correlation algorithm is used to optimize the defogging and the target foreground occlusion,and the underwater target recognition effect is improved.The related experimental environment was designed and built,and multiple sets of underwater light field-polarized fusion images were acquired for underwater image restoration.The feasibility and superiority of the proposed method were proved by comparison with existing methods.Finally,based on the light field-polarization fusion algorithm,we verify the effects of polarized and unpolarized illumination on the underwater image restoration.This paper introduces and describes several common characterization methods of polarized light,andstudies the influence of the concentration of scattering medium and the polarization-preserving characteristics of underwater targets on the depolarization effect of polarized light.Design and build an experimental platform by changing the concentration of the scattering medium and the polarization-preserving characteristics of the underwater shooting target.Observing the restoration effect of the image under polarized light and unpolarized illumination,the restoration quality of the light field-polarization fusion algorithm is improved,and the theoretical support for improving the underwater image restoration quality is provided.
