Design And Implementation Of A Web-based University Information Management System

Shenyang University is a multi-disciplinary university,the number of whose undergraduates at school has reached 20,000.Thus,it is important to supervise these undergraduates,manage the information of the students in the university by network,deal with the basic information of students effectively and rapidly,and make their college life nice and meaningful.As the technique of information and network growing rapidly,websites as a new and developing thing have developed strongly.It is a new target of us to combine the students' work with the progress of information and make full use of the limited resource to manage the daily study and life of the students at school.Therefore,it is necessary to build up the student information management system of Northeastern University based on network.According to the training flow sheet of undergraduates,there are information processes,manual operations which can be cut down during the management,and student network management in this subsystem.The ASP.NET language and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 are adopted in this system,which is developed by Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.The function of this system is to offer information from the freshmen to the graduate students,including collections of the enrollment,partitions of dormitories,assort of the classes,subject achievements of the students,managements of daily life,comparisons of collectives such as person,dormitory and class,and so on.Then the instructors could know their students through network,meanwhile students could also obtain the latest arrangement.Therefore,both of them could communicate in time efficiently with each other on the study,work and life.In addition,it could also set up the bridge among students,their parents and teachers,and make the intercommunion easier.The module design method is used to build the student information management subsystem,all the modules below are designed and implemented:student basic information management module,student daily behavior management module,work study information management module,public information service module,Northeastern University alumni communication module and system function maintenance module.In this thesis,the concept and status of the student information management system is introduced and analyzed,and the necessary of building the platform of the student information management subsystem is discussed according to the actual situation of Northeastern University student management work.After the requirement analysis of student information management subsystem,the general design and the detailed design of the system are given.And some key techniques in the implementation process of the system are discussed.Finally the function and performance of the system are tested.
