With the development of industrial automation,robot technologies are more and more use in all types of production lines.Compared with the traditional manual sorting and robot teaching sorting,robot visual sorting will improve production efficiency and quality,make sorting more flexible,reduce labor costs,easy to achieve integrated information,easy to statistics all kinds of production data,which similar to the human eye "recognition" function.At present,the machine vision has been widely used in product non-destructive testing,logistics sorting,packaging,drug packaging and other fields.In this paper,a visual recognition based on edge recognition is proposed for sorting things on the production line.The ADTECH ar5215 four-axis robot system and the Avs1100 vision system are calibrated by ADTvision image processing software,which establish industrial robot hand-eye relationship.The image processing software,collected the image by the industrial camera,obtained the edge information.Then the image which process is matched with the collected image.When matching is done,the robot will catch the object which is identified.The experimental results show that the system based on edge recognition can accurately match the target from messy,calculate the center coordinates,which feed back to the industrial robot.Through the coordinate assembly,the robot can pick up the target.
