The rapid development of modern network technology brings lots of convenience to people's work and life with the explosive growth of network traffic.The cloud data center that is based on traditional network architecture cannot manage the network devices globally due to its limitations at the infrastructure equipment level,and it cannot expand the network configuration flexibly and dynamically to meet the new requirements and services,which incurs low load balance efficiency,resulting in a declined quality of network services.On the other hand,the Software Defined Network architecture dynamically defines network devices through software,which provides new ideas for load balance of cloud data center network.Besides,the SDN is structurally compatible with cloud data center networks and hence provides powerful assistance for large-scale applications in cloud data centers.The SDN can control data transmission and distribution within the network and it implements a centralized control through a programmable controller,which is different from tradition networks.As a result,traditional load balancing strategies need to be revised to adapt to the SDN architecture.This work explores the load balancing algorithms in the SDN-based cloud data center network,and proposes an SDN-based Cloud data center Load balancing strategy.The existing load balancing algorithms in SDN-based cloud data center network focus on multi-path selection of data flow or optimization of OpenFlow table.This paper investigates load balancing issues among the egress routers in cloud data centers.The main work and innovations are summarized as follows:(1)The paper studies the characteristics of SDN architecture and traditional load balancing algorithms,analyzes the background and implementation principles of SDN-based cloud data center network traffic scheduling,and summarizes the advantages of SDN-based cloud data center network load balancing.(2)The paper proposes a load balancing strategy for egress routers in cloud data centers.We first abstracts cloud data center networks,and focuses on the network performance of egress routers.From the perspective of user network experience and response time,the proposed strategy achieves optimized load balancing results.(3)The proposed strategy is performed on the simulation platform called Mininet.Studying and analyzing the experimental results,the paper holds that the QoS performance of the cloud data center network is improved significantly after applying the proposed load balancing strategy,and the dynamic load balancing is achieved.
