With the wide application of global positioning system and the rapid development of wireless communication technology,the demand for Location Based Service(LBS)has been increasing.People need to obtain and report location information at anytime and anywhere.Among them,the mobile object location updating technology and map matching technology which are the basis of LBS,are the key technologies to achieve location tracking.It is also the basis for providing LBS.However,due to the inherent error of positioning technology,as well as the increasingly complex network structure which arises from by the rapid urban development and the increasing number of moving objects,location tracking has some problems in accuracy and communication cost.On the research of the existing technology of location tracking at domestic and abroad,this paper mainly concentrates on the improvement and optimization of location updating technology and map matching technology.In terms of location updating technology,this paper proposes to adopt the idea of group and combine the free wifi p2 p opportunistic network with paid GPRS(or GSM)network to send the location information to the server.In regard to map matching technology,this paper points out an approach on node merging processing of OSM road data and processing error points of GPS data,At the same time,according to the complexity of the road structure,using appropriate map matching algorithm to realize matching.This paper has the following contributions: 1: It proposed a group approach as well as a combination of location update and wifi p2 p network.This method reduces not only the bandwidth pressure of moving object and server communication,but also the communication cost.2: This paper also proposed OSM map data and location point data processing,and according to the complexity of the road structure to design the corresponding algorithm,It leads to not only reduce the storage space,but also improve the precision and speed of matching;3: In the end,this paper designs a location updating prototype system based on wifi p2 p,and conducts the map matching experiment.Those prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the above method mentioned in this paper.
