In Chinese-English medical translation, the popularization of traditional Chinese medicine teaching materials gets much of the attention of Chinese scholars, while the studies in biomedical field are relatively inadequate, which to some extent hinders the publication and propagation in the world of excellent papers produced by Chinese scholars in this field. This paper mainly studies the translation methods of research papers in biomedical field.By taking advantage of the three major online translation tools, namely Baidu Translate,Google Translate, and CNKI Translate as well as Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory which mainly focuses on the similar reading effects of readers of both the target language and the source language by making appropriate adjustments to make up differences between the two languages in translation process, translation methods are summarized. The paper summarizes features of the original paper at lexical, syntax, and discourse levels, namely multi-verbs,long terms, personal subjects, compound sentences, end focus, disordered sentences, and implicit logic,as well as adopts respective translation methods, namely verb nominalization, structural adjustment of phrases, the transformation of personal subjects into impersonal ones, the segmentation of compound sentences, the adjustment of sentence order, and the explication of implicit logic. In conclusion, for biomedical papers, translators can adopt different methods in the Chinese-English translation process,so as to render the readers of the translation the same feelings as that of the original text.Hopefully, this paper may provide some references for the researches on Chinese-English translation methods in the biomedical field in the future.
