The slicing process of the semiconductor industry plays an important role in the manufacturing process of the entire semiconductor components.At the same time,there are many needs in the aerospace,automotive,and other fields that require slitting and grooving.Simultaneously,slicing and grooving processes are developing in the direction of ultra-thinning,high consistency,and high surface quality.The use of multi-wire electric discharge machining for slicing and grooving process has advantages such as high efficiency and high surface quality.So this method has gradually attracted people's attention.This research mainly focuses on basic experiment on multi-wire electric discharge machining,the detection of discharge ratios,spark location distribution.First,processing efficiency comparison experiments are performed during the single-wire EDM and multi-wire EDM.And experimental results verify that multi-wire EDM can effectively improve the machining efficiency.And,as the number of lines increases,the growth rates of processing efficiency gradually slow down.Afterwards,taking the three-wire EDM as an example,this paper has explored the effect of processing parameters on process specifications.Simultaneously this paper analyzes the laws of experimentation.The analysis provides support for parameter choosing during multi-wire EDM.A set of discharge rates detection system is set up.The hardware principle circuit is designed based on the voltage threshold comparison.At the same time,the waveform detection program and the waveform statistical program are compiled based on the ARM kernel.The upper computer is programmed with LABVIEW software.Simultaneously this paper completes the verification of the accuracy of the waveform recognition of the detection system.This system is used to statistics normal discharge ratios,open circuit ratios,and short circuit ratios in the processing efficiency experiment.So this paper explains the change of processing efficiency from the point of discharge rate.A set of multi-wire EDM spark location detection system is set up.Based on the potential difference method,this paper deduces the detection principle of multi-wire EDM spark location.The spark location calculation function in two-wire EDM is obtained through experiments.Then based on PCI data acquisition card and LABVIEW software,a set of spark location detection system is built.This paper proposed two kinds of evaluation methods of discharge point distribution.Using this detection system,the influence of tension and pulse interval on the distribution of spark location is explored in two-wire EDM.Based on the two sets of detection systems,from the perspective of the discharge rate and the distribution of discharge points,the causes of changes in the processing efficiency and the occurrence of surface burns are investigated during single-line large-thickness EDM.This paper studies the reasons for the change of processing efficiency in efficiency experiments.The correctness of this analysis is verified by the study of the ten-wire EDM process.In summary,it is verified that two sets of detection systems can reveal the multi-wire EDM process from the perspective of the discharge rate and the distribution of spark location,and provide direction for multi-line EDM improvement.
