The mass media is the outlook of the age and guidance of public opinion.The reports about the doctor-patient relationship could influence people's attitude toward the doctor-patient relationship and influence the doctor-patient issue depending on the objectivity and balance in the reports.Meanwhile,the audience,as the participation of the communication,whose selection,comprehension and reaction about the message in the reports are considered important in the process of communication,could also have an effect on the result of propagating.This paper makes an research on the bias in the reports about doctor-patient relationship at the base of paper news and TV news,and on the hostile media perception of audience by deep interview with 19 doctors and 10 patients.It shows that the bias did existed in the reports which always stereotype the doctor-patient relationship and had unjust focus on either side in the relationship.The hostile media perception of audience did existed when they were reading the doctor-patient reports.They felt that the reports are hostile to themselves and biased toward the other.It also testifies the audience's difference on the hostile media perception.The doctor-patient reports could influence audience's perception toward the relationship.And the evaluation of audience towards the public trust in media is on the low side.The bias existed in the reports and audience's cognition.And when the audience looks at the media in the biased view,the bias in the reports could intensify that in the audience's attitude and stereotype toward the biased media.But the audience's preconceived stereotype would not always cause the perception of bias towards the reports.
