In today's society,With the accelerating process of urbanization and the problem of aging population,the proportion of the elderly living alone in the community is increasing.The old people who live alone not only faced with psychological loneliness of living alone,but also the personal safety problems which cannot be found and rescued in the first time when a fall accident occurs.In this context,this paper proposes a system that can monitor the movement status of the elderly living alone in real time and the situation in the first time when it falls accidentally and rescue with the corresponding monitoring center.Current related researches conduct on a family-wide basis and informs the guardian through the mobile network for treatment.This kind of method realizes the real time fall condition monitoring,but since the guardian is not always around the elderly alone,it will be difficult to treat the patient in real-time This article proposes a ZigBee-based and Ethernet-based monitoring technology based on home-based single-point deployment and combined with the popularity of Ethernet in the smart communities.The system collects and transmits the real-time motion data of the elderly through a ZigBee sensor network in a single home node and transmits it to the server of the cell monitoring center via Ethernet.The algorithm is processed by the support vector machine algorithm to determine whether the elderly person is in a falling state.Finally,the status of all the elderly in the community is displayed in real-time on the front-end Web page to notify the community guardian.The main research work includes the design and implementation of data transmission network based on ZigBee and Ethernet,and the design and implementation of the fall detection algorithm based on support vector machine.Theoretical research and experiments show that the system can meet the original intention of system design,as well as the real-time and stability of data transmission in the detection of the fall of the elderly.Community-based guardianship further improves the timeliness of care when the elderly fall,and is in line with the development trend of smart communities.
