The Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)implements the monitoring and controlling of physical data of the region by deploying multiple nodes that can sense and process data,and as the primary task,the deployment of nodes plays an important role in the effect of system.How to improve coverage of the network,reduce network consumption,and ensure network connectivity are issues that currently require close attention and continuous improvement in the field.With the expansion of the network scale,traditional geometric analysis or numerical methods are difficult to solve these problems.Therefore,the research on the deployment method of wireless sensor networks based on a meta-heuristic algorithm is of great significance to the development and application of WSN.In this paper,the deployment methods of WSN nodes in various environments are studied.The models of deployment in different environments are established respectively,and in which coverage,network cost,and network connectivity are comprehensively considered.Then deployment methods based on Whale Swarm Algorithm(WSA)is proposed,and finally a deployment subsystem was designed and exploited.Firstly,according to the requirements of coverage,network cost,and network connectivity in the deployment problem,the objective function for deployment of nodes in regular regions without obstacles is designed and WSA with the iterative counter(WSA-IC)is proposed.Comparing the algorithm with other algorithms in six simulation scenarios,it is verified that the WSA algorithm has superior performance in converging and obtaining optimal solution with high quality.Secondly,aiming at solving the WSN deployment problem in complex environment with obstacles and irregular outline,this paper proposed an approximation strategy,based on virtual grid for obstacles and irregular regions.Further,the factor of rate of obstacle avoidance is added into the objective function.According to the approximation strategy and the new objective function,a WSN deployment method based on WSA is proposed for a complex environment.The superiority of the method is verified by a set of simulation scenarios.Then,according to the deployment strategy in different environments,the deployment subsystem of WSN is designed and exploited.Through this system,it is feasible to restore multiple deployment scenarios and provide excellent deployment solutions.The superiority of the system is demonstrated by several examples,and the engineering value and significance of the system are reflected.Finally,the full text and above work is summarized and the future researches are prospected.
