With the rapid development of science and technology, people's requirements for video clarity have become higher and higher, resulting in an increase in the amount of video data. The transmission problem of high-definition video ensues. Therefore, while ensuring the video quality, this article uses the H.265/HEVC encoding to compress the video data, greatly reducing the amount of video data, and realizing the real-time display and storage of video information. The simulation model was established by Matlab, and the compression coding based on H.265/HEVC was implemented, and the compression display effect was verified. With the continuous development of embedded systems, the characteristics of flexibility, portability, and miniaturization are even more remarkable. Therefore, this paper chooses FPGA as the central processing unit to implement the hardware system design. On the FPGA hardware platform, the H.265/HEVC coded mapping is implemented using programmable logic resources and DSP resources. In order to ensure that large amounts of data can be presented and facilitate later development, video information is stored using a write-through mobile disk technology.Set up the hardware platform, realizing the image acquisition of 1080P@30Hz through the image acquisition system, carrying on the compression after compressing the image based on the hardware system, which have realized the compression ratio of the video data nearly 116 times. The use of disk write technology to achieve image storage, and through the serial port to verify the correctness of the stored information. Therefore, high compression ratio video compression based on FPGA and write-through storage of the disk are realized.
