A Study On Improving The Work Effectiveness Of Publishers' External Editors

Because of the fierce competition in the publishing industry,the operating modes of publishers and the ideologies of the management layers have also changed from quantitative to qualitative.The numbers and varieties of publications published by the publishers increased year by year.Many publishers often hire external editors to process manuscripts.Publications are the carrier of spiritual food and are the pillar of spiritual civilization construction,so the quality of publications is of great significance in improving China's population quality.As the very important part in the entire publishing process,the edit and process of external editors have a very significant impact on the quality of the publications.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study how to improve the work effort of external editors.In this paper,the R publishing house was taken as the research object,and the case analysis method,investigation method and interview method were used to analyze the working performance status quo and the current problems of external editors in the house,the solution was also proposed.Although the processing speed of external editors in the R publishing house can be guaranteed,the editing quality is still deficient and the editing process is difficult,so their current work efforts need to be improved.In this paper,it is argued that the existing problems are:the step-censoring system is failed to implement strictly within the publishing house,the professional quality of external editors is uneven and they lack responsibility.In this paper,the causes of the problems were analyzed,mainly considering the problems in the changes of the corporate external environment and the corporate internal management.Therefore,it needs to strengthen the responsibility for improving the work effort of external editors,and to establish an effective operational model for external editors,as well as to improve the appointment,training,assessment,supervision,incentive and remuneration mechanisms of the publishing house to the external editors.This paper and its research will provide useful reference for other publishing houses to improve the work efforts of external editors.
